Spotlight: Displayed considerable improvement on handicap debut at Fakenham (2m4f, good to soft) a week ago, winning readily by over 8l under Jamie Gamblin; contests a deeper race here but escapes a penalty; must be considered.
Spotlight: French bumper winner on very soft ground; runner-up on two of his three hurdling starts, more recently at Fakenham (2m, good) last month; moves up in trip for this handicap debut and should have more to offer.
Spotlight: Displayed improvement when upped to 3m for handicap debut at Ffos Las (good to soft) in April, keeping on well for second; not seen again since but has a fighting chance here if coping with the drop back in trip.
Spotlight: Respectable fifth of 12 on handicap debut at Ffos Las (2m, soft) in April and looked suited by step up to 2m4f when clear second to short-odds favourite in recent Hexham maiden (good); each-way claims at least here.
Spotlight: Never better than midfield when 40-1 for recent seasonal/handicap debut at Worcester (2m, good) but remains unexposed and the increased emphasis on stamina may enable improvement here.
Spotlight: Absent since below-par run in June 2024 and resumes with career strike-rate standing at 0-20 but was unlucky not to win over C&D (heavy) in January 2024 (in front before last-flight unseat) and the booking of Sean Bowen makes him well worth a glance in the market.
Spotlight: Unexposed 6yo who was placed in a bumper last season and ran well to a point when sixth of 15 in Worcester novice hurdle (2m, good) on last month's reappearance; back up in trip for handicap debut; can improve.
Spotlight: Placed in all three handicaps, most recently when keeping on well for clear third behind two progressive rivals at Worcester (2m4f, good) last month; 2lb higher here but has claims if handling the slower ground.
Spotlight: Irish point winner on slow ground in February; safely held when third in two good-ground hurdles in April (2m/2m3f) but has scope for improvement in handicaps this season.
Spotlight: Reportedly appreciated combination of step up in trip (from 2m5f) and switch to better ground when opening account here (2m7f, good) in April, his sixth hurdling start; open to more improvement this season but it's curious to see him dropped back in trip today.
Spotlight: Placed twice over 2m4f at Worcester in September (handicap/maiden) and has claims if judged on those efforts but was below form when odds-on for recent Fakenham maiden and is now 0-10 over hurdles.
Spotlight: Yet to strike form since returning from mammoth absence this summer (four runs) but did not enjoy the run of the race when fourth at Stratford (2m2f, good) last month and Harry Cobden is a good booking here.
Spotlight: 0-6 over hurdles; finished tired and was unable to justify heavy market support when well-held third at Lingfield (2m7f, soft) in February; drops back in trip on this first run since.
Spotlight: 0-8 over hurdles for Seamus Mullins and absent since midfield finish in March; makes seasonal/stable debut from workable mark but considered only if lively in the betting.
Spotlight: Kept on for second in Exeter novice (2m, good) in March, his second hurdling start, but was pulled up when upped to 2m4f for handicap debut in April and has not raced again since; returns with a point to prove.
Spotlight: 0-6 over hurdles for Anthony Charlton; seemingly aided by cheekpieces when placed in two handicaps (both 2m3f) in early part of this year and subsequent defeat is best overlooked (bad jumping error ended chance) but has fitness to prove on stable debut and the headgear is missing.
Spotlight: Unplaced all five hurdling starts; ran well to a point on last month's seasonal debut at Uttoxeter (2m, good) but was on the retreat before falling heavily at penultimate flight; back up in trip here; others preferred.
Spotlight: Maiden pointer who struggled in two hurdle races in August/September (2m1f/2m4f); has lowly mark for handicap debut but still makes only limited appeal; tongue-tie refitted.

Itaintmebabe is unpenalised for his emphatic win at Fakenham a week ago but that race was very slowly run and the form is not sure to transfer to this more conventional track. Preference is for AWAY FOR THE NIGHT (nap), who moves back up in trip after shaping well in a fairly good 2m novice on last month's seasonal debut and should have some improvement to come in handicaps. Highbury Hill is second choice. Locked Down Lad and Delgany Deadline might also feature.[Chris Wilson] Show less
