FA Cup Betting & Odds

Welcome to FA Cup betting at BoyleSports. You can bet on the world’s most famous domestic cup competition with outright odds, match betting markets and live FA Cup odds. Read on to discover popular markets, how to understand odds, and a few betting tips for the tournament.

Join BoyleSports or sign in to your account and check out the latest FA Cup odds.

Popular FA Cup Betting Markets

You can bet on a wide range of FA Cup football betting markets at BoyleSports, including:

Outright Winner: Wager on the team you think will climb the famous steps at Wembley and win the FA Cup final. You’ll find outright odds right at the start of the competition until the showpiece final at Wembley in May. If you can back an outsider – like Crystal Palace winning in 2025 – early on in the tournament, you can find real value in the outright odds.

Match Winner: Bet on one of the two teams to win an FA Cup match. This could be in the early rounds, when the Premier League teams join in the third round, or the semi-final for example.

Both Teams to Score: Wager on both teams hitting the back of the net in an FA Cup match.

Total Goals Over / Under: Bet on the total goals in a match being over or under a certain amount. If you wager on over 2.5 goals, the total number of goals in the match must be three or more. For example, 2-1 or 2-2.

Correct Score: Wager on what you think the final score will be in an FA Cup match. This is the final score at the end of the 90 minutes.

To Qualify: Place a stake on a certain team reaching a specific round of the FA Cup. This could be a Premier League side making the final or a lower league team reaching the fifth round.

Half-time/Full-Time: Predict the outcome at half-time and full-time. An example could be draw at half-time and West Ham to win at full-time.

Goalscorer Markets: Wager on a player to score first, last or at any time during an FA Cup match

Handicaps: The favourite is given a virtual disadvantage and the underdog a virtual advantage. Say the favourite starts at -1.5, they must win by two clear goals for the bet to be successful. Handicap betting is a good way to even things out when a lower league team faces a Premier League side at a Premier League ground.

Live In-Play FA Cup Betting

With live In-Play FA Cup betting, you bet in real time while the players are on the pitch. As soon as the match kicks off, the live odds open.

The FA Cup is famed for its giant killings, where relative minnows pull off shocks against the top teams from the Premier League and Championship. Often it happens when the big boys travel to lower league grounds and do without their usual top-flight comforts and have to navigate a less-than-ideal pitch.

Live odds are ideal for predicting a giant killing. If you can see the tide beginning to turn, following a spell of pressure, an early goal or an injury to a top player, you can make your prediction in real time.

Understanding FA Cup Betting Odds

At BoyleSports, you’ll see our FA Cup betting odds written as fractional odds. Take the example of Liverpool at 4/1 odds of winning the FA Cup. This means that there is a predicted one in five (20%) chance of this happening.

It also helps you understand your potential winnings. A £10 bet on Liverpool to triumph at 4/1, would pay out £40 on a successful bet. You would also get your stake back for a total of £50. You might also see odds written as decimal odds, which is more of an American style. An example of decimal odds of 5.00 would return £50 on a successful £10 wager.

Before you place any bets on the FA Cup, use our helpful betting calculator to work out your potential winnings.

Understanding what can impact the odds can also help with your FA Cup betting. Factors like the divisions of the two teams and their current league positions will have an affect on the odds. A top Premier League team might be the odds-on favourite against a Championship side. But things may be a little closer between a team towards the bottom of the Premier League and a side near the top of the Championship. Other factors include player injuries, suspensions and current form.

FA Cup Betting Tips

When you bet on the FA Cup, it helps to look into the data and stats. Consider:

The form of lower league teams: It’s important to research the current form of lower league sides, looking at both their recent league results and performances in the early rounds of the FA Cup. This can help you understand their giant-killing potential. If you can correctly predict an FA Cup giant killing, you can find real value in the odds.

The head-to-head: While historical reputation in the cup can play a part, a better indicator is the head-to-head between certain teams and their recent form.

The Wembley occasion and pitch: Evaluate how playing at Wembley in the semi-final or final can impact some sides. So-called smaller teams may get overawed by the occasion. But some sides may be more suited to the big Wembley pitch – think Crystal Palace using the space in behind Manchester City to triumph in the final in 2025.

You may also consider accumulator bets across multiple FA Cup matches – especially in the early rounds – for higher potential returns.
